What You’ll Need for the Course

To participate in the Introduction to Handgun course, students are required to bring the following items:



  • A firearm and at least 50 rounds of ammunition (available for rental with advance notice)
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Weather-appropriate attire, including closed-toed shoes and a hat with a visor
  • Notepad and pen for taking notes
  • Snacks and drinks for breaks


If you do not currently own a handgun, we encourage you to use one of our rental firearms. This option allows new shooters to explore different models and determine what works best for them before making a purchase.
